Carol Priego is passionate about 19th century techniques and experimental photography. Through these, she conducts rhizomatic research through the concepts of border, territory and archive. Holder of a degree in political science, specialized in audiovisual mediation and photography, she generates participatory projects via visual arts with groups in vulnerable situations, both at a local and international level, always with an intersectional perspective aimed at fighting discrimination and deconstructing stigmas.
Professionally, she moves between the educational and cultural sectors. She worked on youth mobility opportunities in Europe, as cultural manager in contemporary creation centers, as well as in the production of various photography festivals in France, Italy and Spain. Over the past two years, she also worked in the Catalan film industry.
She was a recipient of the government's Arts and Culture scholarship from the Republic of Indonesia, where she developed the “Duduk di tepi” a project on poetry and memory, exhibited at Tamam Ismail Marzuki (2018). Since 2023, she runs Amares Azielos, a project that offers alternative photo workshops and develops an exhibition program with artist meetings at the Roca del Vallès youth penitentiary center.
