Island Boundaries is a collaborative endeavor that brings together Carol Priego, Sean Wang (Wang Cheng-Hsiang), Juan Miguel Marín, and Matthew Logan to explore the idea of the island as both a physical place and a metaphor for human connection. Through photography, installation, sound, and performance, the exhibition reflects on the visible and invisible boundaries that shape our relationships with landscapes, histories, and one another.
Within the exhibition, Carol Priego’s Imaginary Island traces the transformation of a vanished island in the South Bronx—from native prickly pear habitat to amusement park, shopping mall, and Co-op City—revealing how landscapes are continually reshaped by ecology, power, memory, and imagination.
